Treatment of Pimples

Skin complaints mar many a lovely skin. The scars left by pimples and acne are usually the result of negligence. Pimples are a serious problem at the adolescent stage. They appear on the cheeks, forehead and nose and spoil the appearance. Eight out of ten teenagers suffer from this problem but though it cannot be prevented or cured at present, proper treatment will control or minimize it to some extent.

Why do pimples appear in youth? The answer to this question is that as soon as one crosses childhood and enters the threshold of adolescence, different parts of the body start developing. The oil-glands underneath the skin become overactive and ooze grease which blocks the skin pores, causing pimples to sprout.
I would suggest the following home remedies:

  • Use sulpher soap to keep the oil-glands clean.

  • Remove make-up at night before going to bed.

  • Steam your face once a week to keep the pores open.

  • A Multani Mitti pack is an effective way to control pimples.

  • Take a spoonful of honey mixed with rose water daily.

  • Apply cucumber juice mixed with rose water.

  • Cut down blood-heating foods, such as sweets, fats and spicy dishes.

  • Do not squeeze pimples – the skin may become septic and leave behind permanent marks which damage your looks.

  • Do not neglect pimples.

Methods and medication for treating acne vary from one doctor to another and its treatment also varies with the needs of the individual patient. After trying self-treatment often involves nothing more than simple local skin care. Control of acne is a long term, continuing process. Follow the instruction of your doctor faithfully and regularly.
