Genital Warts
Like anywhere else on the body, surface warts can also occur on genitalia. Genital warts are usually transmitted by sexual contact, though anto-inoculation from the hands may sometimes occur. They can occur in both sexes and are usually located on the moist surface of the genitalia. They start as minute reddish swellings and grow into grouped pedunculated lesions. The genital warts usually respond to local applications of 20 per cent podophyllin in tincture benzoinco. While applying this agent, the surrounding normal area has to be protected with petroleum jelly.
